Ruben Amorim heaps praise on ‘top’ Man Utd star Leny Yoro

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has spoken in glowing terms about central defender Leny Yoro, describing the youngster as a top talent and declaring him ready to play.

The Portuguese tactician’s comments highlight the growing belief that the 19-year-old could be a cornerstone of their future.

“Leny Yoro, for sure, will be the future of this club,Amorim said (via Fabrizio Romano). He is a top, top talent. And I think he’s ready to play.”

His performance off the bench in recent weeks has caught the attention of fans and pundits. The French centre-back delivered a string of assured displays, bolstering his reputation as one of the most exciting defensive prospects in Europe.

After being limited by injuries earlier in the season, Yoro finally got the nod to make only his third Premier League start against struggling Southampton.

Stepping into the starting XI ahead of the experienced Harry Maguire, Yoro’s inclusion signals Amorim’s faith in his ability to perform under pressure. Despite United’s inconsistent form this season, the teenager’s poise and maturity on the pitch have been undeniable. The game against the relegation contenders is the perfect chance for him to build steam.

Signed from Lille in the summer transfer window, Yoro was heralded as one for the future. However, injuries threatened to stall his integration into the first team. Now fully fit, the centre-back has embraced the opportunity to strut his stuff.

Yoro, Matthijs De Ligt, and Lisandro Martinez can be mainstays in the Man United backline, allowing the club to focus on rebuilding other areas of the pitch where they need reinforcement.

The Reds are crying out for a clinical finisher and complete centre-forward to lead their line, and much of the focus has been on that area. They must also refresh their wing and wing-back options to strengthen the ranks.
