Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford on loan during the ongoing January transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.
However, successfully bringing the Red Devils star from the Old Trafford club to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club would hinge on what proportion of his wages Man United are prepared to pay, as well as the size of the fee if there is an obligation to buy included in any deal.
Rashford is out of favour under head coach Ruben Amorim despite the Portuguese labelling him a ‘big talent’, and he could leave before the winter transfer window closes.
Spurs could be willing to take him on in a temporary deal as the North Londoners want to bolster their attack for the second half of 2024-25, and gambling on the 27-year-old could prove to be a smart move as he is desperate to prove Man United wrong.
However, Tottenham will have to battle AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund for his services, and more suitors could join them in his pursuit in the coming days.
Rashford currently earns around £315,000 per week at the Old Trafford club, and Spurs may need to pay around half of that for Man United to agree to a loan deal.
The England international knows he may need to leave the Red Devils if he wants to force his way into the plans of new Three Lions manager Thomas Tuchel, and remaining in the Premier League could be more appealing to him.
Tottenham could do with an inspired Rashford right now as manager Ange Postecoglou looks to get the best out of his attack following an underwhelming campaign so far, but getting a deal done could prove very tricky.
A change of clubs could get the best out of the Man United academy graduate, and joining a club like Spurs could be what he needs to get his floundering career back on track again.
