Tottenham Hotspur’s plan regarding Tyrese Hall in January transfer window

Tottenham Hotspur will send Tyrese Hall out on loan in the January transfer window.

That is according to The Mirror Transfer Live blog (10:33am, January 5, 2025). The report has claimed that Tottenham are planning to let Hall leave on loan for the rest of the season.

Tottenham bosses want to test Hall at a senior level after the defensive midfielder scored three goals and set up two more in Premier League 2.

However, according to the report, Spurs are not going to rush into making a decision over which club Hall moves to on loan for the second half of the campaign.

Tottenham, who are monitoring Manchester City attacker Jack Grealish, want a club where the 19-year-old would get regular minutes with a playing style that is similar to the Spurs first team under Ange Postecoglou. That could be in the Championship or in League One.

Spurs may also wait until the latter stages of the January transfer window before loaning out Hall.

Tottenham Hotspur should not loan out Tyrese Hall

Hall is only 19 now. He is still developing and progressing as a footballer. There is no need for Tottenham to send him out on loan for a few months.

Yes, playing in the Championship or League One is much better and more productive than turning out in Premier League 2. You do not get the competitive edge or feel the pressure.

However, it would be better for Tottenham to send Hall out on loan to a club in the Championship in the summer of 2025. It would mean that the teenager would get a proper pre-season with his prospective loan club, and there would also be more time to judge which team would suit him best.

For now, Hall should play in Premier League 2 and perhaps he could train with the Tottenham first-team squad as well to maintain that sharpness and competitive feel.
