West Ham United are among those alert to an opportunity to sign Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson on loan for the rest of the season before the end of the January transfer window, according to Ben Jacobs.
The Hammers want to bolster their striking options following the long-term injury to Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug’s struggles, and they reckon the Seagulls star could be the answer to their shortcomings in front of goal.
However, West Ham will have to beat fierce competition to the services of the 20-year-old in the coming weeks, with Fulham and Arsenal also keen on bringing Ferguson to London.
Brighton are still deciding whether to listen to offers for Evan Ferguson in January. Several suitors have already enquired and yet to receive clarity. Brighton's focus just on getting Ferguson fit for now.

The 6ft hitman has been praised by his teammate James Milner for his ‘phenomenal’ finishing, and the Irons could do with such a striker during the second half of the campaign.
Under-fire West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui will be desperate to land players capable of making instant impacts in the remaining 19 league games of 2024-25, and whether Ferguson can help turn the fortunes of the club around remains to be seen despite his massive potential.
He has just a goal in 14 appearances this term despite bagging 16 goals across the last two campaigns, and he is currently unfit.
Brighton have yet to decide whether to loan Ferguson out this month, with suitors yet to get clarity over their plans, and they are expected to insist on an obligation clause in any deal should they allow him to leave temporarily before the January transfer window closes.
West Ham must strengthen their options in front of goal if they are to end the campaign well, and it will be intriguing to see which players they go for in the coming days and weeks.
The future of Lopetegui at the club could depend on how things go during the ongoing transfer window, and the Spaniard will be hoping for the best.
