Aston Villa reach agreement to sign Axel Disasi on loan

Axel Disasi emerges as potential target for Newcastle

Aston Villa have reached an agreement to sign Chelsea defender Axel Disasi on loan for the rest of the season, according to Matt Law

Villa and Tottenham Hotspur were in the race to sign Disasi on loan in the January window, but after several twists and turns, it appears that the 26-year-old defender is finally heading to Villa Park.

The West Midlanders have won the race to sign the Chelsea defender after finally agreeing a deal.

The Telegraph journalist claimed earlier today that Tottenham were still working to try to take the defender on loan for the rest of the season.

They had agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign him on loan, but the player only wanted to join Villa.

With time running out, Disasi has decided to move to Villa Park.

Villa finally agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign the centre-back on loan for a fee in the region of £5 million. The deal will not have any option to buy, as per Fabrice Hawkins.

Disasi was left out of Chelsea’s squad for Monday night’s game against West Ham United, and he is now leading towards Villa Park to undergo his medical and complete other formalities.

Law wrote on his personal X handle: “Exclusive: Aston Villa have an agreement in place to sign Axel Disasi on loan for the rest of the season from Chelsea. Player heading to Villa.”

This has been a massive transfer window for Villa where they managed to sign Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund and Andres Garcia from Levante on permanent transfers, while Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio joined on loan from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, respectively.

Disasi has dropped down the pecking order at Chelsea this season and has managed only four starts in the Premier League.
