EFL play-offs – preview
The Championship play-offs are traditionally difficult to predict, and this season is no different.
Sheffield United are the favourites despite never being promoted via the play-offs in eight previous attempts.
They should be good enough to beat Bristol City in the last four, but their record in the post-season shoot-out is concerning.
Coventry City and Sunderland meet in the other semi-final, and the former should progress after gaining experience of big games in recent seasons.
Charlton Athletic took 61 points from their final 27 matches in League One and look a good bet to win promotion to the second tier.
A run of eight wins and four draws fired Chesterfield into the League Two play-offs, and they are fancied to claim their second consecutive promotion.
