Newcastle United want to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani

Newcastle United are in talks with Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani, according to Sky Germany journalist Patrick Berger.

They have made the 26-year-old France international a top priority as they look to bolster their options in the position after missing out on RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.

The Slovenian international is set to join Manchester United despite the Magpies having a bid accepted by his club.

Kolo Muani is not the only striker the Magpies are looking at, with his teammate Goncalo Ramos, Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins and Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson also on their radar.

The Newcastle target has three more years left on his PSG contract and could cost a sizeable fee.

The Magpies could be ready to pay top dollar for him as they were willing to sign Sesko in a €85 million deal, offering an initial €82.5m for him. A similar offer could be enough to acquire Kolo Muani.

The Frenchman spent the second half of last term on loan at Juventus, bagging ten goals in 23 appearances.

While he is surplus to requirements at the Parc des Princes club, he has what it takes to hit the ground running with Newcastle.

Kolo Muani has impressed in the Ligue 1, Bundesliga and Serie A, and a move to the Premier League could appeal to him.

Newcastle are offering Champions League football, which would make them an attractive option for the PSG star. However, they are unlikely to be the only club interested in him.

They will hope they can pip other suitors to him, having lost out to Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City in the pursuit of several summer transfer targets.
