Tyrell Malacia’s reps surprised by reports linking Man Utd left-back with Celtic

Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia’s representatives have reacted to reports linking him with Celtic, according to Voetbal International journalist Joost Blaauwhof.

Celtic have been constantly linked with bringing the Red Devils star to the Parkhead club for months as manager Brendan Rodgers looks to bolster this squad.

However, members of his camp are surprised, as there has not been any contact from the Hoops.

Malacia is currently out of favour at Man United as he is not in manager Ruben Amorim’s plans.

The Netherlands international is currently training away from the first-team having been omitted from their pre-season tour.

Malacia is expected to leave this summer but a move to Celtic is not on the cards. His only offer so far has come from the Saudi Pro League and he has yet to accept it.

The 25-year-old joined Eredivisie club PSV Eindhoven back in February on loan for the remainder of the 2024-25 season. Dutch clubs could look to bring the former Feyenoord star back home.

Celtic were also recently linked with Manchester City attacker but he never seriously considered the move and has since joined Everton on a season-long loan.

The Hoops could sign a player from the English top-flight this summer as West Ham United midfielder Andy Irving is reportedly on their radar.

Celtic made a late approach to the Hammers at the end of last summer’s transfer window for the Scotland international and are still keen on him.

The Bhoys have signed Kieran Tierney and Ross Doohan on free transfers and have added Hayato Inamura, Benjamin Nygren, Callum Osmand and Shin Yamada to their squad this summer.
