Aston Villa are showing a late interest in signing Newcastle United striker William Osula before the transfer deadline, according to the Daily Mail.
The Villans are in the market for attacking reinforcements, and the 22-year-old is expected to leave the St James’ Park club today.
The Magpies have signed Germany international striker Nick Woltemade, while the imminent arrival of Brentford’s Yoane Wissa will drop Osula further down the pecking order.
The Dane has bagged one goal in two Premier League appearances for Newcastle this term and could prove to be a regular source of goals if he plays consistently.
Villa manager Unai Emery has a track record of improving youngsters, and Osula could be open to linking up with him.
The Midlands club are expected to hold on to Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers beyond the transfer deadline today.
However, they need additional options in attack to compete strongly this season.
Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho is expected to join on loan for the season, but Emery could be open to adding another striker to his ranks.
Villa have until 7.00 pm today to finalise transfers, and while a big-money signing is not on the cards, loan deals and low-budget signings could still be struck.
Victor Lindelof is expected to join the Villans as a free signing, having been without a club since leaving Manchester United earlier in the summer.
The Midlands club could be forced to look into signing more free agents after the deadline today, and they will not be short of quality options to pick from across Europe.
