Jeff Stelling insists Tottenham Hotspur had the best summer transfer window

Former Sky Sports pundit Jeff Stelling has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur had the best summer transfer window, rating how they conducted transfer business better than their rivals.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club lost Heung-min Son, but completed permanent deals for Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel after their impressive loan spells last term.

Spurs also signed Luka Vuskovic, Kota Takai, Mohammed Kudus, Joao Palhinha and Xavi Simons, while Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani joined on loan yesterday.

The club missed out on Eberechi Eze, Morgan Gibbs-White and Savinho, but Stelling insists they did better than everyone else in the window.

His claim is likely to divide Tottenham fans as they would have wanted more players in, but manager Thomas Frank has strengthened in every department.

Spurs won the Europa League with Ange Postecoglou in charge last term, but finishing 17th in the Premier League cost him his job.

Frank has started his reign with two league wins and a defeat, and the addition of quality firepower in attack could get his team firing on all cylinders.

Kudus has plenty to prove, with Roy Keane insisting he is unconvinced by his signing.

Simons and Kolo Muani will be eager to prove themselves in the Premier League, having dominated in France and Germany.

Tottenham need quality depth to challenge across all competitions this term, and the board has supported Frank in the transfer market.

The Danish tactician will be keen to impress in his debut Champions League campaign as a manager, and Spurs got a decent draw in the league phase.

They will face Villarreal, Bodo/Glimt, AS Monaco, FC Copenhagen, Paris Saint-Germain, Slavia Prague, Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt.
