Steve Parish says Crystal Palace are not under pressure to sell Adam Wharton to Manchester United

Manchester United have been regularly linked with interest in Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton, and have been tipped to launch a serious bid for him next summer.

The Old Trafford club did not make a concrete move for Wharton last summer as they concentrated on bolstering their attack.

However, Man United need a new midfielder with Casemiro expected to leave at the end of the season, and Wharton fits the bill.

Unfortunately, chairman Steve Parish insists the club are not under pressure to sell him.

Wharton joined Palace from Blackburn Rovers in February 2024, signing a five-and-a-half-year contract.

He has four more years left on his deal, and suitors may need to break the bank if they want him next summer.

Palace will not be under pressure to sell a player with three more years still left on his deal at the end of the season, and Man United may need to look elsewhere.

They have plans to sign Wharton and his Brighton & Hove Albion counterpart Carlos Baleba in a bid to strengthen in the middle of the park.

However, the Red Devils may need to settle for the Cameroon international next summer as it appears the summer transfer rumours have unsettled him.

Wharton wants to go to the World Cup with England next summer, and more suitors will emerge for his services if he forces his way into the starting XI at the tournament.

Real Madrid have already been credited with interest in the Palace star, which would be a blow for United.
