Barcelona are ramping up their search for a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
According to SPORT, they have made it a top priority to bring Bayern Munich star Harry Kane to the Spotify Camp Nou next summer.
Barcelona have been linked with several strikers, including Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez and Levante’s Etta Eyong.
Kane, who has been described as ‘one of the best strikers in the world‘, has become Barcelona’s primary target.
They view Kane as the ideal successor to Lewandowski. The Pole is in the final year of his contract, and his time at Barcelona appears to be nearing an end.
While the club has an option to extend his stay for an additional 12 months, they are already looking beyond the legendary Polish striker.
Barcelona are ready to reshuffle their frontline next season, and Kane is now considered a top priority.
The England international striker joined Bayern in 2023 for around €93 million. Despite turning 33 in June, Kane’s numbers in Bayern colours have been phenomenal.
Since moving to Germany, he has scored an astonishing 108 goals in 113 appearances for the Bundesliga champions.
Kane has already bagged 23 goals in 17 games across all competitions this season, maintaining the form that made him one of the Premier League’s all-time greats.
Barcelona managed to sign Lewandowski from Bayern and will fancy their chances of doing the same with Kane, especially if he is interested in a move to Spain.
The deal could also be realistic for Barcelona. Kane’s contract with Bayern reportedly includes a €60m release clause that will become active in 2026.
Unless he signs a new contract with Bayern before then, Barcelona may have no problems activating the clause, especially if they can bolster their coffers with player sales and sponsorship deals.
Barcelona have already contacted Kane’s representatives, led by his brother Charlie, to explore the his availability.
