Rangers tracking Westerlo left-back Tuur Rommens

Rangers are considering a move to re-sign Josh Windass in January and are also looking to bring Westerlo left-back Tuur Rommens to the Ibrox club, according to Sky Sports.

Rangers manager Danny Rohl wants to strengthen at the back during the winter transfer window, and the 22-year-old Belgian has caught his eye.

Brentford loanee Jayden Meghoma is the only natural left-back at Rangers, and Rohl has had to play other players out of position to fill the spot.

Rommens has established himself as a regular for his club in the Belgian Pro League, with ten league assists in 78 appearances over the past two years.

The Belgium under-21 international signed a four-year contract when he joined Westerlo from KRC Genk in July 2023.

Rommens is solid going forward, with his dribbling and ability to deliver great passes amongst his key attributes.

Getting him and Windass could be huge for Rangers as they look to impress in the second half of the season.

Windass has bagged six goals and three assists in 19 league games for Wrexham in the English Championship this term, and a return to Ibrox could appeal to him.

Rohl worked with the attacking midfielder at Sheffield Wednesday and is keen on a reunion.

However, whether Wrexham would be open to letting him go midway through the season is unclear.

They are pushing for Premier League promotion and will be desperate to retain players to boost their chances.

Windass spent two years at Rangers before leaving in 2018, bagging 19 goals and 13 assists in 73 games, and they could do with his experience and quality again.
