Former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Fraser Forster has joined Bournemouth, having been without a club since last summer.
The 37-year-old spent three seasons at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, making 13 appearances under former manager Ange Postecoglou last term.
Forster played 34 games but was no longer in Spurs’ plans and had been a free agent since the end of the season. He could be on Bournemouth’s bench against Arsenal on Saturday.
Bournemouth have registered him with the Football Association, and he will hope to feature for them before the end of the season.
The former Spurs goalie has signed a short-term deal until the end of the season.
Bournemouth have Djordje Petrovic as their first-choice in goal, and he has played in every one of their Premier League games this term.
The Cherries have Will Dennis as their cover in the position, but he suffered an injury in training this week. Forster brings almost two decades of experience to the table.
While Spurs have moved on without him, first-choice Guglielmo Vicario has not covered himself in glory at times this term.
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has Antonin Kinsky and Brandon Austin as his other options, but the Italian is unlikely to lose his starting spot anytime soon.
Vicario has made 26 appearances across all competitions this term and will hope to help Spurs win more silverware after their Europa League triumph last term.
They are currently 12th in the Premier League table after 19 games, but only four points separate them from the Champions League places.
They need to improve in the second half of the campaign to boost their chances of playing in the elite European competition next term.
