Leeds United eye late move for VfL Wolfsburg striker Mohamed Amoura

Leeds United are plotting a potential late swoop for VfL Wolfsburg striker Mohamed Amoura ahead of the Monday transfer deadline, according to French journalist Nabil Djellit.

Manager Daniel Farke wants more attacking firepower, and the Whites are trying to get a deal across the line.

They have been linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Jorgen Strand Larsen all through the winter and could allow Joel Piroe to leave if a new number nine arrives.

Amoura has been on Leeds’ radar for a while, but he is expected to continue the season with the Bundesliga club.

The 25-year-old has been involved in 31 goals since the start of last season. He notched ten goals and 12 assists in 2024-25, and has added seven goals and two assists this term.

Amoura is unlikely to cost more than the £40 million the Whites are willing to pay for Strand Larsen, but it is unclear whether they have plans to make a concrete move in the coming hours.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been in impressive form for Leeds since he arrived from Everton last summer, with nine goals and one assist to his name in 21 league games.

Farke will hope he maintains the momentum for the remainder of the season, but he needs quality cover in the position following Piroe’s struggles.

Leeds will continue to monitor the market ahead of the deadline and will not hesitate to pounce if an opportunity arises for them to sign a proven attacker.

Adding one to their ranks could go a long way in helping them secure safety and possibly push for a place in the top half of the table.
