Rangers now in talks to sign Wolfsburg winger Andreas Skov Olsen

Rangers have opened talks with VfL Wolfsburg to sign attacking midfielder Andreas Skov Olsen, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.

Manager Danny Rohl wants to strengthen his options in the final third during the ongoing winter transfer window, and Olsen has emerged as a target.

Wolfsburg appear to be already preparing for life without the Denmark international, in a potential boost for the Light Blues.

Olsen was not included in the matchday squad today against Bayern Munich despite being fit.

He still has a contract with the German top-flight club until 2029, but a move to Rangers could be on the cards in the coming days.

The 26-year-old has scored two goals in ten appearances this term. He has started six times.

Olsen is primarily a right winger and would be an upgrade on the current options at Rangers.

The Dane is an excellent passer with brilliant finishing ability. His perfect delivery on set-pieces would boost Rangers’ title hopes.

A brilliant run of form in recent weeks has put Rangers firmly in the title race, but they could do with some quality additions for the second half of the campaign.

They are just three points behind Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts, who have a game in hand, after winning seven of their last eight games.

Rangers will fancy their chances of challenging for the league title and have already bolstered their squad with the addition of Tochi Chukwuani from Sturm Graz.

The 22-year-old midfielder is Rohl’s first signing at the club, while the Light Blues are also closing in on the signing of left-back Tuur Rommens from Westerlo.

Olsen could be next, and adding him to their attack could be a massive boost for Rangers.
