Thomas Frank has lost the plot at Tottenham and his defeatist West Ham comments prove it

Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 home defeat to West Ham United extended their winless run in the Premier League to four games.

The pressure is mounting on Tottenham boss Thomas Frank, who has failed to deliver the upgrade expected following Ange Postecoglou’s departure.

Spurs are 14th in the league and inching closer to the relegation zone. The ship is sinking fast, and Frank is failing to inspire.

His comments following the loss lacked any fight or bite. Some parts of his post-match conference were frustratingly defeatist.

Comments such as ‘if you can’t win, don’t lose’ are far too pragmatic for a club with Tottenham’s ambitions.

Journalists questioned the manager about the leak of his exact line-up before the game.

While other managers would have threatened to address the leak, Frank delivered another defeatist response, saying it had happened at other clubs.’

The appointment of Frank already looks like a failed experiment, and the club would be wise to pull the trigger now.

His unexpansive style was always a curious fit for a fanbase and squad conditioned to front-foot football, and it was never guaranteed to translate.

The tone is more worrying than the results. Spurs are drifting, yet Frank sounds resigned rather than enraged, reflective rather than demanding.

That lack of fight in his public comments is a major red flag at a club that needs urgency and authority from the touchline.

Tottenham cannot afford to drift through another half-season hoping for a turnaround that shows little sign of coming.

The table does not lie – the performances are deteriorating, and the mood is flat.

Spurs should accept the mistake quickly, act decisively, and move on before more damage is done.
