Arsenal attacker Leandro Trossard picks up injury against Mansfield Town

Arsenal were dealt a big injury blow during their FA Cup fifth-round tie against Mansfield Town.

Leandro Trossard picked up a knock in the first half. The Belgian was unable to continue after going down and was replaced by Piero Hincapie.

It is too early to determine the severity of the knock, but an injury to another key player is the last thing Arsenal need right now.

William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Jurrien Timber and Ben White were all absent from yesterday’s training session, and the Gunners need their key players fit during the crucial title run-in.

Arsenal are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Germany to take on Bayer Leverkusen in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

It is unclear whether Trossard will be available, but he may have been taken off today just as a precaution.

Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi and Martin Odegaard also did not train yesterday and were not named in the matchday squad today.

Manager Mikel Arteta decided to rest them ahead of the gruelling run of games Arsenal have coming up.

They are currently playing in four competitions and will need to maintain their overall squad fitness.

Arsenal are expected to progress to the FA Cup quarter-finals and could end the season by winning all three domestic trophies.

They play Manchester City in the League Cup final on March 22 and are seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table with eight games left.
