Bangladesh recall Litton Das for ODI series against Pakistan

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-man squad for the upcoming three-match one-day international (ODI) series with Pakistan.

Litton Das has returned to the squad along with Nahid Rana, Shoriful Islam and Afif Hossain.

Das, who has the record for the highest individual score for the national team, has been struggling for form in ODIs recently.

The 31-year-old hasn’t even reached a double-digit score in his previous eight matches since December 2023.

His last half-century in the format came against India in October 2023.

However, Bangladesh are hoping to tap into the right-hander’s experience, with nearly a hundred international matches to his name.

Fast bowler Hasan Mahmud is unavailable for the series, as he is recovering from an elbow injury.

His fellow quick Tanzim Hasan has also been sidelined due to a back issue.

Bangladesh were not part of the T20 World Cup 2026, as they were replaced by Scotland after refusing to tour India due to security concerns.

Pakistan decided to boycott the match against India in solidarity with Bangladesh, but later reversed the decision after a meeting with representatives of the International Cricket Council (ICC)

The two nations are now set to play in a series which runs from March 11-15.
