Inter Milan leading the race for Tottenham Hotspur’s Guglielmo Vicario

Inter Milan are in pole position to sign Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 29-year-old shot-stopper is pushing for a return to Serie A to revive a career that has stalled during a turbulent 2025/26 campaign.

The Nerazzurri have identified Vicario as their primary long-term successor to veteran Yann Sommer, whose contract expires in June.

Vicario’s relationship with Tottenham has reportedly deteriorated following a series of inconsistent performances.

The ongoing animosity was evident during Tottenham’s Champions League round-of-16 first-leg match against Atletico Madrid, when Vicario was dropped in favour of Antonin Kinsky.

However, that decision backfired. They conceded three early goals, two of which Kinsky was responsible for, inside the opening 15 minutes en route to a 5-2 defeat.

Kinsky was replaced after 17 minutes, which confirmed Vicario as the undisputed number one for the remainder of the season. However, a move away remains firmly on the cards.

Juventus and Monaco are also monitoring the situation, but Inter are the frontrunners to sign Vicario.

He prefers a move to Milan and had previously agreed terms with them before eventually joining Tottenham after his departure from Empoli.

Kinsky is also expected to depart this summer.
