Crystal Palace travel to Krakow on Thursday night for the first leg of their Europa Conference League semi-final against Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Eagles are now just two matches away from making club history.
Palace are competing in their first-ever major European semi-final and arrive in Poland full of belief despite last weekend’s 3-1 Premier League defeat at Liverpool.
Match preview
Manager Oliver Glasner has transformed the mentality around Palace after the FA Cup success and European qualification last season.
The Austrian has guided the Eagles to another landmark moment in what is rapidly becoming one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.
Palace defeated Fiorentina to reach the final four, but Shakhtar present a different challenge.
The Ukrainian giants are unbeaten domestically since November and possess one of the most technically gifted attacks left in the competition.
However, Palace are confident. The Eagles have developed a clear identity under Glasner, built around intensity, aggressive pressing and quick transitions.
The Palace boss insisted there would be no deviation from that philosophy despite the magnitude of the occasion.
The Eagles know a positive result in Krakow can put them within touching distance of a historic final in Leipzig.
Match stats
Palace have reached the semi-finals in their first major European campaign, but face a Shakhtar side unbeaten in their last six matches across all competitions.
The Ukrainians have scored 19 goals in the Europa Conference League this term.
However, Palace have won three of their six European away matches this season. Ismaila Sarr has scored seven goals in the competition.
The Eagles have already beaten Ukrainian opposition this season, defeating Dynamo Kyiv in Poland.
Crystal Palace team news
Evann Guessand is unavailable due to a knee injury. However, Glasner confirmed the 24-year-old is progressing well and could potentially return for the second leg.
Eddie Nketiah and Cheick Doucoure are also sidelined, while the consistent Tyrick Mitchell will be assessed after picking up an Achilles injury against Liverpool.
If Mitchell is unavailable, Borna Sosa is expected to deputise at left wing-back.
Daniel Munoz should continue on the opposite flank, with Sarr and Yeremy Pino supporting Mateta in attack.
Crystal Palace predicted XI (3-4-2-1)
Dean Henderson; Chris Richards, Maxence Lacroix, Jaydee Canvot; Daniel Munoz, Adam Wharton, Will Hughes, Tyrick Mitchell; Ismaila Sarr, Yeremy Pino; Jean-Philippe Mateta.
