Marcos Senesi and Tottenham Hotspur reach an agreement in principle over summer move

Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi and Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement in principle over a potential summer move, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The Argentine has committed to joining the club as a free agent if they stay up. It is a huge boost for Tottenham, given Senesi’s quality and experience.

Tottenham are back in action against Wolverhampton Wanderers tomorrow and will be desperate to pick up their first Premier League victory of 2026.

While Wolves are relegated, they will look to give Spurs a hard time. Roberto De Zerbi and his men cannot afford to be lackadaisical.

The Italian believes his team can win all five remaining league games of the season, and they have to pick up three points tomorrow to keep their survival hopes alive.

Remaining in the Premier League will not only help them sign Senesi, but also allow them to hold on to some of their key players beyond this season.

Cristian Romero is expected to leave Tottenham even if they stay up, but survival could help them keep Micky van de Ven.

Liverpool and Manchester United are both keen on the Netherlands international defender, and more suitors will join them if Spurs go down.

A squad overhaul could be on the cards at the club regardless of which division they are in next season, and adding Senesi to their defence could be huge.

Tottenham play Aston Villa, Leeds United, Chelsea and Everton after their game against Wolves, and will need to produce some incredible performances to win all of those games.
