Aston Villa are prepared to sell Arsenal target Morgan Rogers before the World Cup

Arsenal are serious contenders for Morgan Rogers, and Aston Villa are reportedly prepared to sell him before the World Cup begins.

Gunners manager Mikel Arteta admires the Villa star and is hoping to bring him to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Arsenal are preparing to defend their Premier League title next term, and Rogers fits the bill as they look to improve their attacking options.

The versatile Villa forward ended the season with 14 goals and 12 assists. Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on him.

Villa want at least £80 million for Rogers, and a sale is expected in the coming weeks.

Rogers is unconcerned whether his future will be resolved until after the World Cup, but Villa want it sorted before the tournament begins on June 11.

The Gunners are unlikely to spend around £250m on players as they did last summer.

However, they are ready to rival the purchase of Declan Rice for a then-British record £105m in 2023 and break their club record.

Arteta needs quality squad depth if Arsenal are to win an unprecedented quadruple next season.

They fell short in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup this term and will be desperate to win both competitions next season, alongside the league title and the Champions League.

Gunners’ sporting director Andrea Berta will also be eyeing moves for players who can significantly improve their squad.
