Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vuskovic’s agent, Pini Zahavi, has held talks with Barcelona, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.
The club want to hand the Croatian a new deal, and director of football Johan Lange has travelled to Hamburg to speak with him about his future.
Vuskovic joined Hamburger on loan last summer and has been in fine form, but another loan deal is not on the cards.
Tottenham could look to bring the 19-year-old back to England if they stay up, with Cristian Romero or Micky van de Ven expected to leave this summer.
However, Barcelona are looking to sign Vuskovic, and his agent has been in talks with them.
Relegation to the Championship could end Spurs’ chances of holding on to him, and manager Roberto De Zerbi will be desperate to get the job done.
Tottenham want to hand him a new contract as he is currently on low wages following the five-year deal he signed last summer.
A new contract would increase his salary, but other clubs may be willing to pay him more.
Vuskovic may not make an official appearance for Spurs despite joining them from Hajduk Split in 2023.
He could not move to London until he turned 18 due to Brexit rules and was sent on loan to Radomiak Radom and Westerlo.
Vuskovic became available to play for Tottenham last summer and was part of their pre-season squad.
He also featured on the bench in the UEFA Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain and the first two Premier League matches of the season against Burnley and Manchester City.
