Liverpool are strong contenders to sign £60m-rated Bowen this summer

Liverpool are strong contenders to sign West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The Reds have tracked Bowen for several years and could intensify their interest as they reshape the attacking options ahead of next season.

Liverpool could take advantage of the uncertainty around the Hammers to snap up the prolific forward.

They want to add proven Premier League quality on the flanks, and Bowen is a player capable of making an immediate impact.

He has bagged 10 goals and 11 assists in 40 appearances this season, taking his tally for the club to 84 goals and 62 assists in 278 outings.

West Ham are preparing for a difficult summer in the wake of major upheaval behind the scenes.

The departure of long-serving co-chair Karren Brady in April has added to the instability surrounding the club, while the threat of relegation continues to loom large.

Even if West Ham retain their Premier League status, there is a growing expectation among rival clubs that Bowen could be allowed to leave under the right circumstances.

He may be available for under £60 million, a figure likely to alert Liverpool.

However, Liverpool will have to move quickly as they are not alone in the race to sign the England international.

Newcastle United are also monitoring his situation, while Everton boss David Moyes also admires the winger.

Bowen has been one of West Ham’s standout performers since arriving in London, scoring consistently and captaining the side over the last two seasons.

He famously netted the winner in the 2022/23 Europa Conference League final under Moyes before committing his future to the Hammers with a seven-year contract.

Despite never publicly pushing for a move away from West Ham, Bowen is now at the centre of one of the developing summer transfer battles.
