Chelsea braced for staggering £120m Real Madrid bid for Enzo Fernandez

Chelsea are braced for a massive bid for wantaway midfielder Enzo Fernandez this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, Real Madrid hold a ‘genuine interest’ in the Chelsea midfielder, who is valued at £120 million.

Fernandez has been dropping hints about a potential summer exit, and Chelsea will not stand in his way if the opportunity arises.

However, the Blues have made it clear that interested clubs will have to meet their asking price for them to sanction a summer transfer.

Chelsea are expected to lose a couple of players after missing out on Champions League qualification, and Fernandez could be the first big name out the door.

The ‘magnificent’ midfielder looks poised to jump ship after three years at Chelsea.

Fernandez has been linked with the Spanish giants for some time, largely because they are one of the few clubs capable of meeting Chelsea’s high valuation.

The World Cup winner has also previously spoken of his admiration for Madrid and his desire to live there one day.

Those comments have continued to fuel speculation about a potential move, and the Argentine international could get his wish this summer.

Fernandez is reportedly open to exploring a new challenge, which could make any future negotiations easier should Madrid decide to make an official approach.

However, Chelsea are under no pressure to sell. Fernandez still has six years left on his long-term contract, putting the club in a strong negotiating position.

Chelsea are reluctant to let Fernandez leave the club and were even planning to extend his contract with a pay rise at the end of the season.

This has the potential to become one of the most intriguing transfer sagas of the summer, but it could happen if Madrid match Chelsea’s asking price.
