Manchester United are reportedly in talks to sign Manchester City academy midfielder David Eze.
The England under-16 international is set to leave Man City this summer, and the Red Devils are in talks with his representatives over a deal.
However, they have yet to reach a conclusion, and more talks could be on the cards.
The 16-year-old is a box-to-box midfielder who is regarded as one of the standout talents of his generation at the Etihad Stadium club.
He is not short of suitors, as clubs outside of England are also monitoring him.
Man United are yet to get over losing the FA Youth Cup final to Man City under-18s last month and will look to strengthen their youth ranks this summer.
Eze has been a regular for Man City’s under-17s and could be featuring for the Red Devils’ under-18s next term if he moves to the other side of the city.
He plays similarly to Paul Pogba, often using his strength to confidently carry the ball from his own half into his opponent’s own.
Eze knows how to escape pressure from markers, and he is excellent at breaking lines with passes.
Man City do not want to lose him, but it appears the teenage sensation has already made up his mind.
A clearer pathway to the first team could be on the cards at Man United, with manager Michael Carrick regularly using youth team players in senior training sessions during the season.
