With manager Roberto De Zerbi aiming to reshape his frontline ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, the Spurs recruitment team has set their sights on Balogun.
The American’s stock is rising after netting 19 goals across all competitions for Monaco last season.
He has also scored twice at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where his performances have helped the US reach the round of 32.
Balogun boasts a potent combination of speed, spatial awareness and elite movement in the box, qualities that could prove lethal in the Premier League.
Monaco are prepared to cash in on their prized asset but have set a €50 million valuation. Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are also interested, although no club has yet made contact with Monaco.
A move to Tottenham would also provide a fascinating narrative twist, given Balogun’s deep-rooted ties to Arsenal.
However, the opportunity to return to London could prove highly appealing.
With Spurs determined to back De Zerbi and consign last season’s 17th-place finish to history, they could turn to Balogun once their midfield targets are secured.
Spurs have already signed Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Jan Paul van Hecke and Martin Dubravka, and tied down Pedro Porro and Antonin Kinsky to new contracts.
