Arsenal are likely to replace Leandro Trossard with Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis, according to The Athletic journalist James McNicholas.
The Gunners star is expected to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer, and manager Mikel Arteta has identified Tzolis as his replacement.
Besiktas want Trossard and are sending a delegation to the United States to meet with him.
“Besiktas, I believe, are sending a delegation out to the US to meet with Leandro Trossard,” McNicholas said on YouTube.
“I think Christos Tzolis will probably be the guy who comes in and I think that will be the deal that happens, probably about €40m. It is not the marquee signing.”
The 24-year-old Greece international ended last season with 22 goals and 29 assists in 52 appearances and is open to joining Arsenal.
Tzolis bagged 21 goals and 16 assists in 56 games in 2024-25 and could be a perfect replacement for Trossard.
The Greek forward has Premier League experience from his time with Norwich City in 2021-22.
He impressed in the 2. Bundesliga with Fortuna Dusseldorf in 2023-24, bagging 24 goals and ten assists in 37 games.
However, signing him will depend on Trossard’s future, and nothing is likely to be finalised until after the World Cup ends.
Tzolis has proven himself in Belgium and Germany, and another chance to show what he is capable of in England beckons.
He has grown in leaps and bounds since his last Premier League appearance and will be confident of hitting the ground running if a return happens.
