Manchester City have announced that they have reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest for the transfer of Elliot Anderson.
Anderson is set to become their first summer signing of 2026, having already completed a medical in the United States due to his involvement with England at the World Cup.
The 23-year-old is now the most expensive British player ever following his record-breaking £116 million move to Man City.
However, Anderson’s fee is behind the £125m Liverpool spent on Alexander Isak and their £116.5m outlay on Florian Wirtz last summer.
The England international was one of the best players in the Premier League last season, and Manchester United were interested in signing him.
He has been impressing with the Three Lions at the World Cup, starting in all four of their games.
Man City will hope Anderson can justify his fee and hit the ground running as they look to challenge for the Premier League title next season.
Maresca will also look to win the Champions League as City eye their second trophy in the elite European competition.
The former Chelsea manager will hope to add more quality players to his squad in the coming weeks.
