Manchester United sign lucrative training-kit sponsorship deal with Betway

Manchester United have announced a multi-year partnership with Betway to be their new official training kit sponsor and exclusive global betting partner.

The £20 million-per-year deal is the most lucrative standalone training apparel or shirt sleeve sponsorship in world football history.

Having operated without a designated training wear sponsor last season, securing this agreement represents a significant commercial triumph for the Old Trafford hierarchy.

The announcement arrives at a pivotal moment for the club and the broader football sponsorship landscape.

Premier League regulations ban gambling companies from appearing as front-of-shirt sponsors starting from the 2026/27 season.

Betting operators have shifted their focus towards secondary commercial inventory, with training kit branding emerging as a primary battleground for global visibility.

By securing Betway across their training apparel and digital footprint, United have successfully navigated the upcoming regulatory restrictions while maximising their commercial revenue streams.

Under the terms of the deal, Betway branding will feature prominently across all men’s and women’s first-team training wear, warm-up gear and coaching staff apparel.

The fresh injection of £20m in annual commercial revenue comes alongside broader financial stabilisation at Old Trafford under co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Coupled with income generated by returning to the Champions League, the expanded financial capacity gives manager Michael Carrick crucial flexibility as he prepares for the new season.

Matchday shirts will continue to feature technology giant Snapdragon under their existing primary contract.

However, the landmark deal with Betway reinforces United’s status as a commercial powerhouse capable of setting new financial benchmarks.
