Newcastle United are preparing a final push to sign Lille forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo with a €60 million bid, according to transfer reporter Sacha Tavolieri.
They have identified the Belgian international as their top attacking priority to bolster Matthias Jaissle’s options up front.
They hope the new offer will bridge the valuation gap and persuade Lille chairman Olivier Letang to approve Fernandez-Pardo’s exit after his impressive 2025/26 season.
Lille have been reluctant to sell one of their prized young talents so late in the transfer window without a replacement lined up.
However, the prospect of a significant financial return on a player who only arrived in 2024 could be too good to refuse.
Fernandez-Pardo has communicated a desire to seek a new challenge away from France, and personal terms are not expected to be an issue once a club-to-club agreement is reached.
He missed Lille’s Ligue 1 opener against Angers due to suspension, with uncertainty over his future still lingering.
Newcastle’s €60m bid is also intended to fend off competition from RB Leipzig and Atletico Madrid as the transfer window enters its final days.
The Magpies have recently agreed a deal for Nico Gonzalez, but their transfer business is far from over.
