Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly advancing in talks to sign Aston Villa youngster Heaven Kilwa.
Kilwa was set to join Manchester City, but Spurs are now the favourites to sign him.
The Lilywhites target rejected scholarship terms at Aston Villa after his contract expired last month – the only player in his age group to do so.
The England youth international joined Villa from Coventry City in 2021 and was widely regarded as one of their most talented academy prospects.
He featured for their under-18s six times, scoring twice, and Tottenham believe they have a chance of pipping Man City to one of the best youngsters in the land.
His exit from Villa is a huge blow, but they will receive training compensation from any club he eventually joins.
Kilwa caught the eye after weighing in with four goals and two assists against Leicester City in the under-16 Premier League Cup last November.
He made his under-18s debut for Villa last October, scoring within 17 minutes of coming on and also bagging a brace for the under-16s on that same day.
Spurs will hope he can replicate that form for them and break into the first-team in the near future.
