Aston Villa playmaker Johan Manzambi shows he can become one of the world’s best after another outstanding display for Switzerland against Scotland

Aston Villa attacking midfielder Johan Manzambi was superb as Switzerland beat Scotland 3-0 in the Nations League yesterday.

After bagging a goal and an assist on his first Premier League start for Villa, he has continued to catch the eye.

Manzambi completed three dribbles, won four fouls, recorded three progressive carries and won seven out of nine duels against Scotland.

His silky play, powerful dribbling and directness caused Scotland plenty of problems.

Manzambi could be a world beater

Manzambi’s latest performance should only increase the excitement around what he can become.

He has everything required to develop into one of the best players in the world if he continues on this trajectory.

His versatility is particularly valuable, allowing him to influence games from several positions without losing his attacking threat.

However, what really sets Manzambi apart is his ability to progress the ball.

He is a stupendously good dribbler who can carry possession through pressure, beat defenders and turn seemingly harmless situations into dangerous attacks.

He also has the composure and quality to make a difference in the final third, whether that means creating chances, driving into the box or finishing moves himself.

Manzambi is a player with an exceptionally high ceiling. He could help Villa achieve something special over the next few seasons.
