Everton predicted XI vs Ipswich Town: Moyes looks to maintain unbeaten run against Tractor Boys

Everton are back in Premier League action on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Ipswich Town to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The Toffees haven’t lost in six games, although three successive league draws mean they have only collected six points from their opening four matches.

Everton head into this one with confidence after a 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the League Cup on Wednesday, with Charly Alcaraz coming off the bench to score the winner.

Ipswich are hoping to claim back-to-back away league victories after their dramatic 3-2 win over Crystal Palace last weekend.

Match preview

Everton’s start represents a significant improvement on their finish to last season, when they failed to win any of their final seven Premier League matches.

They are still searching for a second league victory.

However, another three points would take them to nine from five games and keep them unbeaten heading into the international break.

Their recent meetings with Ipswich offer less encouragement.

Everton have won just one of their last six Premier League encounters with the Tractor Boys and failed to win either of their last three home meetings.

Ipswich have already picked up six points this season, matching half of their entire Premier League win tally from the 2024/25 campaign after just four games.

They have been vulnerable defensively, conceding 10 goals, but their attacking ambition has produced wins over Sunderland and Palace.

Julio Enciso has been one of their main threats, leading Ipswich for touches in the opposition box, shots and dribbles.

Zian Flemming will also be full of confidence after scoring the 90th-minute winner last weekend.

Everton have won 26 of their 61 meetings with Ipswich, with 20 draws and 15 defeats. They have lost just one of their last six Premier League meetings with Ipswich.

Their last meeting at Goodison Park ended 2-2 in May 2025.

Everton team news

Christian Norgaard is unavailable with a groin problem, while Merlin Rohl is also expected to miss out after sitting out the previous two matches.

Harrison Armstrong should be available after missing the Wolverhampton Wanderers win with a knock.

‘Fantastic‘ midfielder Hayden Hackney could retain his place after another encouraging performance in midweek.

Moyes is expected to restore several senior players after rotating his side in midweek.

James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite should return to the defence, while Brennan Johnson could also come back into the team.

Tyler Dibling has given Moyes another selection headache after impressing and providing the assist for Alcaraz’s midweek winner.

Jack Grealish also impressed after getting valuable game time. The 31-year-old could be handed his first league start since returning to Everton on loan.
