JJ Gabriel is reportedly considering an offer from an undisclosed club after asking to leave Manchester United.
Man United had planned to include the 15-year-old in their matchday squad to take on Brighton & Hove Albion in the League Cup tomorrow.
However, Gabriel has refused to train with Michael Carrick’s senior team and is insisting on leaving. His father is a major player in the decision as he acts as his son’s agent.
While Gabriel has yet to sign a professional contract or scholarship agreement with Man United, he has a deal with them until June 2027 after signing registration terms.
He wants the deal cancelled, but that can only happen if Red Devils agree to it.
With Man United not open to terminating his registration, Gabriel and his representatives can go to the Premier League to get a decision on the termination request.
Finances are not the problem as the Red Devils have given the teenager perks they have never given any youngster.
Limited opportunities during pre-season have played a huge role in his decision.
The attacker featured just once – for eight minutes as a substitute at centre-forward against Atletico Madrid in August.
The club will hope they can hold on to him, but he is unlikely to stay beyond next summer even if he does not get his wish right now.
Man United would demand a significant compensation fee if he leaves, and it will be intriguing to see how things end.
