La Liga clubs watching Garnacho closely as they consider transfer swoop

Alejandro Garnacho is attracting transfer interest from La Liga clubs. according to the Daily Mail.

He joined Aston Villa on loan this summer, with the move becoming permanent if he hits certain targets. Chelsea believe they are easily achievable.

However, his future is up in the air after struggling to make an impression in the early weeks of the Premier League campaign.

The Argentine forward has made only three substitute league appearances and is yet to start a game for Unai Emery’s side. He has not scored or assisted a goal.

Villa have been crying out for difference-makers in attack, but Garnacho has failed to step up and is far down in the pecking order.

George Hemmings, Ibrahim Mbaye, Johan Manzambi, John McGinn, Emiliano Buendia and Alysson are all ahead of him right now.

The 22-year-old may have had fitness concerns. He was a substitute for most of the second half of last season as his form waned and didn’t have much of a pre-season.

Garnacho needs to step things up

Garnacho is a quality talent who should thrive under a manager renowned for getting the most out of his attackers.

It appears a few La Liga clubs are ready to gamble on him, as he is not getting opportunities to revive his career at the Birmingham-based club.

Garnacho now needs to take the bull by the horns and start taking greater responsibility for his career.

There can be no room for complacency when his development appears to have stalled.

The talent is obvious, but potential counts for little if he is not prepared to put in the extra work required to fulfil it.

Rather than waiting for opportunities to arrive, Garnacho must force Emery’s hand through his performances in training and every minute he gets on the pitch.

His best years should still be ahead of him, but he needs to get his act together and start maximising the considerable talent he possesses.
