Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall has agreed a new five-year deal contract, according to the Times.
It is a huge boost for Newcastle manager Matthias Jaissle, given that Manchester United wanted to sign Hall during the summer transfer window.
Hall was the Red Devils’ first-choice to replace Luke Shaw, and they were prepared to spend £60 million on him.
However, Newcastle insisted the 22-year-old was not for sale, and he has now agreed to a five-year deal. It will be announced tomorrow.
Hall will become one of the best-paid players at Newcastle.
The full-back joined the club on a season-long loan from Chelsea with an obligation to buy in August 2023.
It was activated the following year and he has since made 106 appearances for the club, bagging three goals and eight assists.
Hall will now hope to make himself a permanent member of the England squad after missing out on the 2026 World Cup.
He will be desperate to establish himself as a first-choice in the Three Lions’ starting XI ahead of the next European Championship in 2028.
Newcastle have done well to hold on to one of their best players and Jaissle will hope the club continues to support him.
