Ajax are keen on signing former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma, according to Dutch outlet De Telegraaf.
The 30-year-old left Spurs this summer following 111 appearances across four seasons.
Ajax have been linked with Bissouma for a while, and their technical director Jordi Cruijff appears ready to make a concrete move.
However, they will face fierce competition from several clubs from the top five leagues.
Bissouma was briefly linked with Chelsea after the transfer window closed, but they are not keen on signing him.
He prefers to remain in the England, having spent the last eight seasons in the Premier League.
There are no takers for the former Brighton & Hove Albion star in the English top-flight right now, and a move to the Eredivisie could appeal to him.
The Malian was unable to force his way into the plans of the three managers that oversaw Tottenham last term, making 11 appearances across all competitions.
The club strengthened in the middle of the park with the acquisitions of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali in the summer transfer window.
Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi also strengthened in attack and defence by signing eight other players.
It has not yielded the desired results as the Lilywhites are winless in their opening four Premier League games of 2026-27.
They lost their first two games and have drawn the last two, and De Zerbi will hope they get a win when they visit Anfield on Tuesday to take on Liverpool in the third round of the League Cup.
