Teeanager Jonathan Nsangou scores as Everton draw with Blackburn Rovers

Everton drew 3-3 with Blackburn Rovers in a behind-closed-doors friendly game at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this afternoon.

Manager David Moyes wanted to keep his squad busy during the international break, and they had a good workout against the Championship club.

Teeanger Jonathan Nsangou was on target for the Toffees. Charly Alcaraz and Thierno Barry also scored. Todd Cantwell, Dapo Afolayan and Augustus Kargbo netted for Rovers.

Nsangou will hope to get his official debut for Everton this season. The 16-year-old has trained with the first-team on several occasions.

He has been involved in five goals for Everton in the under-18 Premier League this season. Nsangou has also been a regular for the under-21s.

Everton need attacking reinforcements after missing out on key targets in the summer transfer window.

The Toffees missed out on AS Monaco’s Folarin Balogun, Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee and Aston Villa’s Tammy Abraham.

It was a huge blow having allowed Beto to join Fiorentina, but Nsangou could give Moyes a welcome boost after impressing in first-team training.

Everton experimented with Alcaraz as a number nine, and he staked a claim for a regular start with a goal.

Brennan Johnson is also an option to ease the load on Barry, but Nsangou could prove to be quality cover off the bench.
