Alex Scott made an impressive full international debut on Saturday, helping England cruise to a commanding 7-0 victory over Croatia.
After coming off the bench in Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Czechia, Thomas Tuchel handed Scott his first Three Lions start, and he duly justified his faith.
Scott was composed in possession, completing 68 of 74 passes at an impressive 92% accuracy.
He contributed immensely to ball progression, registering three successful long balls from five attempts and making 19 carries.
Scott was solid defensively, winning two of three tackles and four of six duels.
Linked with Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham last summer, Scott’s stock has continued to rise. He could be in line for a major move next year.
Chelsea reportedly had an offer rejected for the ‘amazing‘ 22-year-old and they could target him again. They need to replace Enzo Fernandez.
Scott has rejected multiple contract extension offers from Bournemouth, with his current deal running until 2028.
If the impasse continues into the winter transfer window, Bournemouth may be forced to consider offers to avoid losing leverage.
The Cherries are no strangers to mid-season departures, having sold Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City earlier this year.
